How Mud Shakers Are Used In Drilling —
The usage of mud shakers traces its origins to the 1970s. The purpose of these shakers at the time was to get rid of fine drilled solids from the weighted mud or drilled fluid without excessive waste of barite or the fluid. Traditional shakers used multiple cyclones mounted over a vibrating screen to achieve efficiency in purification. However, this was only capable of four hundred to six hundred Gallons per Minute, GPM. After years of technological advancements, the capacity of mud cleansed per minute has greatly increased. This has been done with the use of additional hydro clones and higher overall qualities capabilities of modern shakers.
