This web site exists to provide insight and information on the right and movement known as "Unloaded Open Carry" in California.

Unloaded Open Carry, or "UOC" of a firearm is legal with a few restrictions currently. There are many law abiding citizens from all walks of life that practice Unloaded Open Carry every day in California. If you happen to see someone, buying groceries, pumping gas, walking a dog, or drinking coffee, and they happen to be openly wearing a firearm, but not wearing a badge, they likely are practicing UOC.
People have many diverse reasons for carrying a firearm. "Personal protection" and "exercising a right" are the two main reasons you are likely to be given if you ask a "UOC'er" their reason.

Bay Area Open Carry - Mission
It is the mission of Bay Area Open Carry to further awareness of responsible ownership and safe lawful use of firearms in California.
We seek passage of common sense, and “shall issue”, legislation that will allow law-abiding citizens to carry a firearm without drastic licensing fees and other nearly unattainable requirements.
We are strongly united against the use of firearms in acts of criminal violence.
We support, respect, and uphold the United States Constitution by educating our fellow citizens of their rights and responsibilities as conscientious firearms owners in the community.
